James Fisher Nuclear runs a manufacturing operation to support the design function using the direct conversion of design data into manufacturing code for the CNC production of parts. This process allows for good control of quality and project timescales. The CNC equipment is fitted with electronic probing both for tool setting and for on machine inspection and the machines are frequently subject to calibration to ensure that they are able to comply with the required tolerances.
The above measures have been successful in reducing production costs and project durations. They also enable a rapid response to be achieved when there is a need for further parts or spares.
