About Us

James Fisher Nuclear was formed in January 2005 bringing together the complementary skills and expertise of four established and successful companies.

Remote Marine Systems Limited (RMS) was established in 1983 by its current Managing Director, Gordon Robertson. Based in Malton, Yorkshire and Seascale, Cumbria the company designs and manufactures a broad range of tooling and equipment in support of the activities of its principal clients, British Nuclear Fuels plc, British Energy, BIL Solutions Ltd and UKAEA.

Nuclear Decommissioning Limited (NDL) was established in 1991 and acquired by RMS Ltd in 2000 Based in Winfrith in Dorset the company’s engineers undertake a full range of design, engineering and safety studies in support of projects undertaken in the nuclear environment.

James Fisher Rumic Limited was established in 1984 in Dalton, Cumbria and has developed an enviable reputation for the engineering service and tooling it provides to British Nuclear Fuels Ltd. Since joining James Fisher in 2002 the company has continued to expand from its offices in Dalton-in-Furness, Cumbria.

Harsh Environment Services Ltd (HES) was established in 1992 at Egremont in Cumbria, close to the Sellafield site. Its excellent facilities enable full scale mock ups to be created to test equipment in a safe environment and to train engineers and operators to ensure operations are undertaken as safely as possible in the nuclear site. Since its acquisition by James Fisher in January 2005 HES has been fully integrated into James Fisher Nuclear Ltd.
